Most Professionals Network by Accident.

We tend to connect with people who look like us, think like us, and move in the same circles we do. Not because we’re exclusionary — but because our networking decisions happen on autopilot, shaped by familiarity, proximity, and habits we’ve never examined.

The result is a professional network that feels comfortable but functions as an echo chamber. Opportunities that never reach certain people. Perspectives that never make it into important conversations. Relationships that look diverse on paper but aren’t really.

Network Like a CHAMP gives professionals the awareness and the tools to change that — not by adding more networking to their schedule, but by making the networking they already do more intentional, more inclusive, and more genuinely valuable.

What Participants Walk Away With

A name for the decisions they didn't know they were making.

Participants learn to recognize the unconscious patterns that shape who ends up in their professional network — and who gets left out. Awareness is the prerequisite for change.

The CHAMP framework: a memorable model they'll actually use.

Five dimensions for evaluating and expanding a professional network: Customers, Hires, Associations, Mentors, and Proteges. Participants leave with a concrete framework for assessing their current network and identifying specific gaps to address.

Insight into the hidden cost of a narrow network.

When networks lack breadth and depth, opportunities disappear silently — no one announces what didn’t get shared or who didn’t get considered. Participants leave understanding what exclusion actually looks like from the inside, and why expanding their network serves everyone.

A plan for the next connection they'll make differently.

This isn’t a program about good intentions. Participants identify one specific gap in their current network and leave with a concrete next step for addressing it. The action starts before they walk out of the room.

A Framework. A Mirror. And Stickers.

Networking programs often fail because they stay abstract. This one doesn’t. Participants do two things during the session that make the learning tangible, personal, and hard to forget:

The CHAMP Network Assessment

Participants complete a self-assessment that evaluates the depth and breadth of their existing professional network across five dimensions. The results are often surprising — and immediately actionable. Instead of leaving with a vague intention to 'network more,' participants leave knowing exactly where their network is strong, where it’s thin, and what kind of connection would make the biggest difference.

The "I Feel Included" Activity

Participants recall a moment when they felt genuinely included in a professional setting — and identify what, specifically, made them feel that way. Their insights become name tag-style stickers they wear for the rest of the conference. The result is a room full of people who know exactly what inclusion feels like to the person next to them — and a built-in conversation starter that keeps the program alive long after the session ends.

Available in Three Formats

Network Like a CHAMP
Keynote  |  45-90 min

The flagship program. A high-energy keynote that helps professionals recognize the hidden decisions shaping their networks — and gives them the CHAMP framework to make more intentional ones. Includes the CHAMP Network Assessment and the 'I Feel Included' activity. Consistently described as one of the most engaging and immediately actionable sessions attendees have experienced.

PERFECT FOR:  Association annual events, conference keynotes, professional development programs, ERG events, high-potential leader cohorts, membership organization gatherings. Resonates across industries and career stages.

Building Your CHAMP Network Online and In Real Life (IRL)
Breakout  |  60 - 90 min  | Highly Interactive

The hands-on follow-up to the Network Like a CHAMP keynote. Participants apply the CHAMP framework in real time — mapping their current networks, identifying specific gaps, and making actual new connections with people in the room. High energy, structured, and built to leave participants with more than a plan: they leave with the beginning of a stronger network.

PERFECT FOR:  Conference breakout tracks following the Network Like a CHAMP keynote. Also effective as a standalone session for association events and professional development programs where participants know each other.

NOTE: Requires a minimum of 20 participants to generate the connection dynamic the session is built around. Most effective when paired with the keynote as a conference package.
