Client Overview
In July 2025, Lead at Any Level partnered with Purdue University Extension to deliver a transformational professional development experience for the part-time coordinators of Indiana’s 4-H Juntos and Next Chapter programs. These bilingual leaders serve across 92 counties, supporting Latinx youth and their families through culturally relevant programming.
The summer retreat, hosted at the Whitaker Inn in West Lafayette, provided a much-needed opportunity to reset, recharge, and reframe how coordinators approach their roles. Through a customized CliftonStrengths® workshop led by Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Amy C. Waninger, participants explored how their unique talents could become the foundation for more confident, connected, and inclusive leadership.
The Challenge
Our Approach
The engagement began with thorough planning, including pre-event meetings, Spanish-language considerations, and clear communication around goals. All 15 participants completed the CliftonStrengths Top 5 assessment prior to the retreat—achieving a 100% completion rate. Amy designed and facilitated a two-hour interactive session that combined two core Lead at Any Level® modules: Play to Your Strengths and Our Strengths in Action.
During the session, participants discovered their own talent themes, explored how to form productive partnerships, and learned to recognize the value of strengths in others—including the youth and families they serve. The session was conducted in English, with bilingual resources available to support inclusivity and engagement.
What Participants Said
The response from participants and organizers was overwhelmingly positive. One attendee shared, “I felt so seen! This was such an eye-opener for how I lead and how I connect with youth.” Another noted, “This gave me a whole new way of thinking about the families I serve. I’m excited to bring this mindset back to my community.”
Throughout the retreat, participants frequently referenced their strengths, and the organizing team captured everyone’s Top 5 themes for continued development beyond the event. The workshop didn’t just meet expectations—it set the tone for the entire two-day retreat.
Results & Impact
Organizers rated the session a perfect 10 out of 10, describing it as the most impactful part of the retreat. The client appreciated the seamless communication, attention to detail, and intentional alignment between workshop content and program goals.
When asked what she would say to others about hiring Lead at Any Level®, event organizer Heather VonDielingen said, “I'd tell them, 'You should have booked her yesterday!' The whole process has been good. Amy kept in contact the entire time. I enjoyed the prep meeting and post meeting and wish all facilitators would do this.”
